Mitt Romney's radical views exposed by Mother Jones

This week the US online progressive publication Mother Jones published a secret video exposing Mitt Romney's comments to a rich group of Republican donors.

The exposure of his comments left the Romney camp reeling and shone the spotlight on Romney's reactionary views, as well as the radicalism of his political agenda, something the mainstream press has refused to do or been unable to do.

The two main issues exposed by Mother Jones were that:

1. Romney believes that 47% of Americans are "moochers and victims who are "dependent on Government and pay no income tax". Romney made it clear it was not his job to care about those Americans.
"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it."
"My job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
2. Romney claims there will be no peace in the Middle East because the Palestinians are not interested in peace.
"And I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace anyway, for political purposes, committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel, and these thorny issues, and I say there's just no way."
Mother Jones provides a summary of the issues raised by Romney in his speech to his wealthy donors.
