Megan Lewis's remarkable book "Conversations with the Mob

Currently reading Megan Lewis's remarkable and deeply affecting 2008 book Conversations with the Mob, which is a stunning collection of photographs, essays and conversations with the Martu people from Western Australia's Great Sandy Desert.

I reckon this is one of the more important and profound documents produced about life in remote Aboriginal communities and plan to write a longer piece about the social and political significance of the book for this blog in the future.

Vickie Laurie's piece in the Australian provides insight into the books creation and its author.
