Stories that don't make it into the corporate media

Project Censored is a USA based media research program that investigates stories ignored by the mainstream media. It has recently published an investigative piece documenting how links between US media corporations and the defense industry shapes media reporting of US military and foreign policy.

Each year Project Censored publishes its Top 25 Censored stories to draw attention to stories unreported by the corporate media. This year's stories include:
  • US Congress sells out to Wall St
  • Lobbyists buy US Congress
  • Bailed out Banks and wealthiest cheat IRS out of millions
  • Private corporations benefit from occupation in Palestine
  • Katrina's hidden race war
  • Congress invested in Defense contracts
  • Recession causes states to cut welfare
  • Dollar glut finances US military expansion
  • Activists slam World Water Forum as a corporate driven fraud
The book version Censored 2010: The Top 25 censored stories of 2008-2009 is available from good bookstores in Australia. I will purchase mine from my local independent bookshop Planet Books in Mt Lawley.
