dispatches on everyday life, social and political realities, the cycles of history, the complexities of civil society, political poetry and song and the struggle of being a good citizen whilst resisting corporate hegemony (and having a laugh) from one of the most isolated cities in the world.

Currently playing: Musical craftsman, Alasdair Fraser
The 1999 CD Return to Kintail which pairs two of Scotland's most respected artists - renowned fiddler Alasdair Fraser and guitarist Tony McManus- is featuring on the CD player tonight.
Alasdair Fraser is a musical favourite of mine. His playing is richly expressive and ranges across haunting laments from the Scottish and Gaelic tradition to classically-styled airs, raucous dance tunes, and improvisations based on traditional themes.
My teenage son is also a big fan of his CD The Road North.
